 The Blood Swept Lands poppies at the Tower of London. Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red was an art installation designed by artist Paul Cummins
and created in the moat of the Tower of London in the latter months of 2014
by volunteers from the public, with the final poppy being installed at 11 o’clock on 11 November 2014 by 13-year-old cadet, Harry Hayes.
The installation consisted of 888,246 individually hand crafted ceramic red poppies, each one representing a British or Colonial casualty of the Great War (1914-18).
