"<" back one image Long Eared Owl
The Long Eared Owl (Asio otus, previously Strix otus) can be found in Europe, Asia and North America. Its habitat is forest close to open country, building its nests using old stick nests of other birds such as crows, ravens, magpies and hawks. They are a secretive bird and rarely seen, and are partly migratory, moving further south in winter months. The Long Eared Owl hunts mainly at night, gliding slowly on its long wings. Its main foods are rodents, small mammals and birds. forward one image ">"
