 The Church in the Bunny Park (St Maryís Church in Churchfields) was designed by Sir Gilbert Scott in 1841. Itís not the first church however, the first mention of a Christian church is in 958AD and later between 1100-1199 a small thatched church was built and lasted until 1782. Bombardier Billy Wells (a champion boxer who struck the Rank gong at the beginning of films) is buried in the crypt. Rev Fred Secombe (brother of Harry Secombe) was the resident vicar from 1969. The church has also featured in many films and TV shows.
